2011-12

 

Middle School Basketball:  PACIS Conference Regular Season - Boys finished 1st, Girls tied for 4th (02/02/12)

 

College Commitments:  Tyler Britton, Baseball, Catawba College; Shawn Millsap, Football, Campbell University.  (02/01/12)

 

Varsity Cheerleaders held the annual "Pass the Pink" event on Jan 20th.  Baked goods sale, pass the bucket, and halfcourt shots raised money for the Starr family.  (01/20/12)

 

MLK Classic Basketball Tournament:  Varsity Boys beat Quality Education Academy for 1st place.  Diante Baldwin was named Tournament MVP.  (01/16/12)

 

Sheetz Christmas Basketball Tournament:  Varsity Boys beat Southwest Guilford 85-72 for 1st place.  Chukuma Ogbodo, Jackson Kent, and Michael Obacha were on the All-Tournament team.  Michael Obacha was named Tournament MVP.  Varsity Girls won in overtime to finish in 5th place.  (12/29/11)

 

Middle School and Jr. Varsity Boys Basketball teams played against an Australian National travel team.  (12/08/11)

 

Softball teams sold freshly cut Christmas trees as a fundraiser for irrigation on the field.  (12/05/11)

Three senior volleyball players (Kathryn Cox, Ellen Fay, Macy Scarborough) participated on the winning East team at the 4th Annual All-Star Oasis Shrine Classic, held at Charlotte Latin.  (11/13/11)

 

Varsity Cheerleaders were Overall Team Champions in the 12th annual Greater Gaston Cheer-Off.  (11/12/11)

 

Faith Johnson was named to the USA Swimming Academic All-America Team, by meeting the required time in at least one event and a GPA above 3.5. (11/08/11)

Troy Spencer (HPCA 2008) shot 5 under par to tie for 3rd place among 74 golfers, his best tournament finish of his collegiate career.   He tied for the second lowest par-72, three-round score in Seton Hall University history.  (09/05/11)

 

Senior, Ellen Fay, was named to the All-Tournament team for the Super Six Volleyball Tournament held at the Greensboro Sportsplex on Saturday, 8/20.  (08/22/11)

The Annual Alumni Men's Soccer game was played on Tues, Aug 9th.  Thirteen alumni returned to play.  (08/09/11)

2010 Varsity Volleyball team was recognized for meeting outstanding academic performance as a team by the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association).  HPCA was one of 178 high school girls teams recognized around the nation.     (07/25/11)

Varsity Softball is ranked #1 in the State - 3A NCISAA.  (04/13/2011)

Kolton White, junior, was listed in Greensboro News and Record as an Athlete to Watch in Boys Track & Field.  Kolton is the reigning NCISAA state champion in the 300 Hurdles, and placed 4th in the 110 High Hurdles.  (02/28/2011)

 

Varsity Boys Basketball finished 3rd in Conference and seeded #6 in State.  Mitchell Oates is All-State.  All-Conference players are Mitchell Oates and Jordan Weethee.  Conference Coach of the Year is Brandon Clifford.  (02/22/2011)
