Band
Where Every Note Counts… and Every Heart Matters.
The Band Program at High Point Christian Academy (HPCA) is part of the school’s Christ-centered Fine Arts Department, offering students a strong musical foundation from middle school through high school. HPCA provides a progression of opportunities beginning with exploratory music rotations in sixth grade and expanding to full band electives in grades 7–12.
At the high-school level, students may join Concert Band and Jazz Band, both performance-based courses that emphasize ensemble playing, music theory, sight-reading, and artistic expression. Jazz Band requires an audition, while both groups participate in multiple performances throughout the year, including concerts, chapels, community events, and regional festivals. Uniforms and attendance at all performances are required, reflecting the program’s commitment to excellence and professionalism.
HPCA bands have earned Superior and Excellent ratings at ACSI Band Festivals and national events such as Festival Disney. Students also take part in enriching off-campus experiences, including trips, music festivals, and adjudication events.
Rooted in a Christian worldview, the band program focuses on developing students’ musical abilities while also building discipline, teamwork, confidence, and a heart for glorifying God through their talents. Small class sizes and individualized instruction help musicians grow at every level, whether they pursue band recreationally or as preparation for college-level study.
