Middle School
Letter from Middle School Leadership
Dear Families,

Thank you for your interest in High Point Christian Academy and for taking the time to learn more about our Middle School program. It is my joy and privilege to serve as the Middle School Principal at HPCA, where we are committed to partnering with families to provide an environment where students are known, challenged, and encouraged to grow in every aspect of their lives.
Middle school is a unique and essential season—a time when students are discovering who they are, developing independence, and forming the habits and character that will carry them into high school and beyond. At HPCA, we desire to walk alongside students during these formative years by offering strong academic preparation, intentional spiritual development, and meaningful opportunities for connection and leadership.
Our dedicated teachers bring both expertise and a heart for ministry. They strive to create classrooms where learning is engaging, faith is woven into everyday moments, and students feel supported and valued. Whether in academic instruction, chapel, athletics, fine arts, or student life activities, our goal is to help each student thrive and recognize their God-given purpose.
We would be honored to welcome your family into the HPCA community. If you have any questions or would like to tour our campus, meet our staff, or experience a day in the life of an HPCA middle school student, we would love to connect with you.
Thank you again for considering HPCA. I look forward to the opportunity to partner with you as we invest in the hearts and minds of your children.
With gratitude,
Mr. David Walker
Middle School Principal
High Point Christian Academy
HPCA Middle School
Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders rule the third-floor domain of Middle School! This is a place where curiosity, creativity, and faith intersect, forming an environment where students are challenged academically, encouraged spiritually, and inspired socially. Middle School at HPCA is designed to engage young learners in a rigorous, Christ-centered curriculum while providing opportunities to grow as leaders, friends, and servants of Christ.
Academics That Inspire
Middle School students dive into the worlds of Life and Earth Sciences, US History, Algebra, and a comprehensive overview of the Bible, guided by dedicated teachers who integrate biblical principles into every lesson. Classes are structured on an “A” and “B” Day block schedule, similar to high school, helping students develop time management skills and prepare for the next stage of their academic journey. Students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and explore the connections between faith and learning in every subject.
Faith and Service
As part of HPCA’s Life of Influence program, every middle school student completes a Servant’s Heart Project. These projects inspire students to serve others in their homes, extended families, and communities, helping them develop empathy, integrity, and a Christ-centered perspective on leadership. Members of the Jr. Beta Club take this a step further by engaging in service projects at local community centers, while each grade level supports a community or mission organization, giving students tangible ways to make a difference.
Community and Fellowship
Middle School is a time for students to create lasting memories and build strong relationships. They bond through Spirit Week festivities, watch their homemade volcanoes explode in Science class, and attend team-building experiences like Camp Merriwood in 8th grade. Eighth graders also participate in an academic field trip to Washington, D.C., providing an immersive learning experience that combines history, civic understanding, and teamwork.
Extracurricular Opportunities
Middle Schoolers can expand their horizons through a variety of clubs and activities. Academically, students can participate in the Student Council, Jr. Beta Club, and local Fine Arts adjudication events. Athletically, students can try out for Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track, Wrestling, and Volleyball. Each of these opportunities fosters leadership, teamwork, and personal growth.
A Well-Rounded Experience
Beyond academics and extracurriculars, HPCA Middle School encourages students to grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Our teachers and staff model Christlike character and provide mentorship, helping students navigate the unique challenges of adolescence with confidence and faith. Middle School is a place where friendships flourish, talents are discovered, and students are empowered to live boldly for Christ.
Preparing for the Future
By the time they graduate 8th grade, students are academically prepared, spiritually grounded, and socially confident. They leave Middle School ready to thrive in high school and beyond, equipped with a foundation of knowledge, faith, and character that will guide them throughout life. At HPCA, Middle School is more than just a transitional stage—it is a vibrant, transformative experience where students grow to love God, love learning, and love serving others.
Junior Beta Club
The Junior Beta Club is comprised of students who display Christ-like characteristics, maintain a high level of academic achievement, and desire to serve others.
At the beginning of the second quarter of the seventh-grade year, students may have the opportunity to join the Junior Beta Club. The Junior Beta Club is comprised of students who display Christ-like characteristics, maintain a high level of academic achievement, and desire to serve others. The purpose of the club is more than recognizing students who have achieved a certain standard. Its purpose is to train students to lead by serving others. Therefore, there are certain expectations of the members. Monthly meetings will be held that members must attend. They must be willing to make sacrifices to serve others through various school projects and community service activities. It is an excellent opportunity for students to serve others in the community and to learn more about the personal gifts and abilities the Lord has given them.
There are three requirements for becoming a member:
Academics
At the end of the sixth-grade school year, students will need to have a numerical average of 95.00 or higher (without rounding). We will look at the final overall average, not each quarter. Students will also need to maintain a 95.00 or higher during the first quarter of the seventh grade. These grades include all core classes and special classes. Students who receive a 79 or lower in any class will not be considered for membership, even if that 79 is in a special class.
Behavior
Students must have a good behavior record to become a member. Students who have received significant disciplinary action or have a pattern of demerits may not be considered. Students who have disciplinary issues after being inducted into the Junior Beta Club may be placed on probation, prohibited from participating in certain events, or dismissed from the club.
Christ-like Servant’s Heart
Students who have met both of the above requirements will be asked to complete permission forms from parents and reference forms from teachers and/or youth pastors.
Students who do not meet the criteria in seventh grade may be eligible after the second quarter of eighth grade. All students will also have an opportunity to join the High School Beta Club in the 10th grade.
Student Council
The HPCA Middle School Student Council provides students with meaningful opportunities to grow as servant leaders within our school community. Members represent their peers, promote school spirit, and actively participate in planning events, service projects, and initiatives that strengthen unity throughout the middle school.
Guided by Christian values, student council members are encouraged to lead with integrity, responsibility, and humility. Through collaboration, communication, and service, students develop leadership skills and learn to positively influence their school culture and serve others with a Christ-centered purpose.
