Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding academic success.

National Merit Scholarships

National Merit Semi-finalist – Courtland Starr
The path to becoming a semi-finalist began in his junior year when he, along with about 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools, took the PSAT. The highest-scoring students in each state became part of the nationwide pool of semi-finalists, which represents less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors. 

 

National Merit Commended Student – Hunter Curlee
Commended students placed in the top 3% of 1.6 million students.


AP Test Awards and Recognition

The AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on AP Exams.  Following are awards for HPCA students that took AP tests in Spring 2017.

AP Scholar with Distinction – granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

AP Scholar with Honor – granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
