Re: High School UniformsDate: June 27, 2007
In an effort to provide consistency in enforcing our uniform policy for the coming year, please note the following regarding clothing purchases. Some of the information is in bold for easy reference. The primary goals for the uniform program are to provide modesty and neatness in an environment that is conducive to learning.
Lands’ End is our uniform provider. Therefore, uniforms must be purchased from Lands’ End. Do not purchase clothes from other sources to wear as a uniform (i.e. no shirts/pants with other logos). You will not be permitted to wear the non-Lands’ End clothing to school. (Please see exception for girls on back of this page)
You will be receiving or may have already received the new 07/08 School catalog from Lands’ End. If you do not receive a catalog you should call Lands’ End at 800-469-2222 and request a 07/08 School catalog. Our school code is 9000-7088-9.
Sears carries a line of Lands’ End clothing. You may purchase uniforms at Sears as long as the clothing you purchase is in the Lands’ End School catalog. Sears will offer more shirt colors than offered in the School catalog and you may purchase any color, including stripes as long as you purchase the same style shirt that is listed in the School catalog and the item is a Lands’ End item.
Please note an important change in the uniform dress code for girls. **Skirts are no longer part of the dress code. However skorts may be worn as long as they are no more than 3 inches above the knee.**
There are a few restrictions on what can be worn to school as part of the uniform dress code. The restrictions are listed below:
The items purchased should fit appropriately, (i.e. length of shorts/ skorts; no sagging of shorts, capris or pants.) . Please do not alter hemlines, etc. If a student wears clothing that violates these restrictions the student will be asked to change and may be asked to no longer wear the clothing that is in violation.
· The following items are not a part of the school uniform:
Pages 10-13 Page 30 – Items G-K
Page 17 – Item E Page 33
Page 19 Item F Pages 36-39
Page 21 – Item A Page 43 – Item F
Pages 22-27 Pages 44-45 – Items B & C
Students may order the above items for personal use, even though they are not a part of the school uniform.
· School logo is not required. The logo is available as an option for all items. The cost of applying the school logo is $5.50 per item.
Please understand that students may wear their middle school uniforms as well throughout their high school years. As long as they still fit properly.
Footwear consistent with the need for safety and appropriateness shall be worn.
Students will be permitted to wear denim pants or capris as part of their school uniform on Fridays. Denim pants or capris are to fit appropriately with no holes and no sagging. Also on Fridays, students may wear their HPCA t-shirt or a Christian witness t-shirt.
Girls, you may order the shirts on pages 30-31 (Items B-F). However, the shirt must remain buttoned throughout the day. If you choose to wear a tank shirt under the shirt, you still must button the shirt. Tank tops or under clothing should not be visible.
Due to Lands’ End not offering a wide variety of pants and shorts for girls, the administration has decided to offer an alternative. Khaki-style pants, capris and Bermuda shorts in navy, black or khaki may be worn as part of the uniform. The pants, capris and Bermuda shorts do not have to be purchased from Lands’ End. They may be purchased at any store and may be worn in accordance with the guidelines listed below:
This alternative to dress code is a privilege and will be taken away if abused.
