Students in the News

In December, Bel Canto (elementary singing group) went to River Landing to minister to them with music.  Ashley Bullard, 4th grade, took cupcakes to share with the residents.  One gentlemen, Mr. Raymond Brandes, was very appreciative and told her if she came back the next Christmas he would give her a cookie cutter.

Mr. Brandes did not want to wait, so he and his daughter came to the school to visit with Ashley.  He gave her a heart cookie cutter that was hand-made by his son.

James Charles Riggs is a 5th grader at HPCA. His mother was born deaf and his father contracted hydrocephalus at 10 days old, which left him deaf.

James Charles and his brother, Andrew James, both are blessed with their hearing. They use sign language and lip reading to communicate with their parents. James Charles signed for the deaf members of the congregation at GSBC on Sunday, February 28th, as the Celebration Choir sang, “Your Grace Still Amazes Me!” We are thankful God is using James Charles to “speak” to a deaf world.
