Resource
Hi! My name is Mrs. Huneycutt. I am beginning my fifth year of service at HPCA. I love our school, and I feel so blessed to be a part of this Christ-centered educational environment.
I have a wonderful husband, Cy, and the Lord has given us the gift of two children, Samuel and Sarah. They all bring joy to my heart. Samuel is in the 4th grade here at HPCA, and Sarah is in the second grade. They both really enjoy school, and they love their teachers!
I also really enjoyed school when I was a child. I used to pretend that I was a teacher and that my room at home was my classroom. I even set up learning centers in my room for reading, math, science, and social studies! I loved it when my friends would come over to my house and play school with me. When I was in school, one of my favorite subjects was reading. I still love to read all different types of books today! When we are not at school, my family and I love to do things together like read good books, play games, visit museums, and visit other interesting places.
Mrs. Shores
Hello! My name is Lynn Shores. After 14 years in the classroom at HPCA, I am excited about working as part of the Resource team, this year. God has presented this wonderful new position to me and I look forward to what he is going to do in my life, as well as, the students He is going to bless me with.
I am eternally thankful to my Dear Lord Jesus for the price He paid for my redemption and for the myriad of blessings He has bestowed on me throughout my life! His love and mercy are new and constant everyday!
My husband, Terry, and I have been blessed with three wonderful children; Kimberly, Blake and Taylor. Kimberly is a cosmetologist in Greensboro, and Blake and Taylor are in college at Appalachian and UNCG, respectively. Although we are figuratively "empty nesters" now, we do share our home with many pets, some of whom are birds, so in the literal sense, we will never truly be empty nesters!
Animals, gardening, interior decorating, and travelling are some of my hobbies and interests. I love children and have counted it a blessing to have been able to work with children in the school setting for 28 years, so far!
Mrs. Wheeler
Having an opportunity to teach at HPCA is a window God opened for me many years ago. I praise each day entering into the HPCA parking lot for allowing me to be here and partner with parents and the church in educating students.
I am Tarheel born, Tarheel bred, and when I die, I'll be Tarheel dead! In other words, I went to UNC-Chapel Hill, loved being there and love to follow their athletic endeavors. My husband, Bill, also attended undergraduate school at UNC. He is an attorney with Wyatt, Early, Harris & Wheeler. Together, we have five adult children. My son, Sam, is married and lives in Santa Cruz, California, where he is in a PhD program in Molecular Biology at the University of California. My daughter, Callie, lives in Asheville where she works as Catering Sales Manager for Four Points by Sheraton. My step-daughters, Elizabeth, Catherine and Virginia live here in High Point and are involved in the food/hospitality business.
I love to spend time outdoors gardening, hiking, snow skiing, playing with our dog, Sasha, and biking. In fact, you may see me, during good weather, riding my bicycle to HPCA.
