“High Point Christian Academy, this is Danita.” I bet you’ve heard that before!! This is my 13th year at HPCA. I started part-time in 2nd grade, then moved to 1st grade with Kirk Oakley for four years before becoming the K-8 Receptionist. I have been married for 28 years to Larry and we have two children, Tyler and Meredith. Tyler graduated from HPCA and is now a senior at Appalachian State. Meredith graduated from HPCA and is now a sophomore at Gardner-Webb University, looking forward to pursuing a career in nursing. Larry and I also share two cock-a-poos, Sasha and Sophie. We affectionately say the dogs are a replacement for our kids because I have never looked forward to ‘the empty nest’. In my spare time, I love to read and work jigsaw puzzles! If I happen to fall asleep while I am reading, so be it!!! Sasha and Sophie will gladly join me!
Hi! My name is Traci Hardee and I work part-time as the Elementary/Middle School Secretary. I am also known as “Mr. Hardee’s wife” because my husband, Richard, is the Headmaster at HPCA. Our family moved to High Point from the “Queen City” of Charlotte when my husband was called to start the Academy in 1996. It has been very exciting watching God grow the school from those very early days. Richard & I have been married 22 years and together we have three sons: Drew, Caleb and Ben. I enjoy working at the school and sharing this position with Lisa Gesell. She & I went to school together in VA from kindergarten through 12th grade. From high school, I went on to attend Carson-Newman College in TN and graduated with a degree in Business.
My name is Lisa Gesell. I work part-time in the Elementary and Middle School Office, and part-time as the Athletics Secretary. I have been married for 20 years and have 4 children. Bethany is a freshman at East Tennessee State University, and here at HPCA: Jared is a senior, Levi is a sophomore and Luke is in eighth grade. My husband, Corey, is the Athletics Director and we are very involved in sports. I grew up in Virginia and graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. I enjoy creating things on the computer and working on the website. Danita and Traci each have dogs, so I had to be the one who represented those who don’t want pets.
