Prince Trave wants more than anything to rule the land of Gadalla.  His father Dokos has died, and Trave’s selfish uncle has assumed the throne.  But when Gris, the King of Kapnos, visits Gadalla, he tells Trave of the medallion Dokos left for the one who should prove himself the next rightful king.  Trave asks Gris to help find the medallion, and Gris agrees.  Thus begins a long journey for truth.
