Hi, I'm Candy Guy, Media Director for grades K-8. What a blessing it has been to serve and work at HPCA. I previously worked as a teacher and media specialist with Guilford County Schools for 30 years. God has been guiding my life since I accepted Jesus at age 9. My mother instilled a love of reading to me at an early age. I still have one of my first books, If Jesus Came to My House by Joan Thomas. It was recently reprinted and I bought a copy for our library. I am surrounded daily with some of the things I love the most; children, books, friends and my church. I have been a member of Green Street Baptist since 1973. My husband Larry and I have been married since 1974. We have two daughters, Christy Davis and Shelby. Christy and Brad have my two grandchildren, Grace-Anna and Will. Shelby is a freshman at UNC - Charlotte. In the fall, I stay busy making gingerbread houses. I love reading biographies, Christian fiction, Newbery award books and the Bible.   It never ceases to amaze me that Jeremiah 29:11 always seems to fit my life, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,"plans to proster you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Keep reading and always have your mind open to learn something new!
